One loaf of french bread, 1/2" slices
8-10 slices of turkey breast meat
8-10 slices of ham, your choice
1 package of sliced swiss cheese
6 large eggs
2 cups half & half
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper
Confectioner's sugar for dusting
1/4 cup raspberry jam, slightly diluted & heated
Preheat oven to 350. Spray a 9x13" baking pan with nonstick spray. Set aside.
Slice your french bread into 1/2" thick slices.
Layer half of the bread into the bottom of your 9x13 baking pan.
Place a layer of slice swiss on top of the bread.
Now layer with turkey and ham. Add another layer of swiss cheese.
Add the other half of the bread slices on top.
In a medium bowl mix together eggs, half & half, salt & pepper.
Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread.
Using a flexible cutting board, press down to compact the casserole and help it absorb the egg mixture.
Place in your preheated oven. Bake for 40-50 minutes until custard is set and it is golden brown and puffed up. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes.
Heat your jam in the microwave with a little water. Stir.
Plate your casserole, dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with raspberry jam.
Serve w/ fresh fruit and a side of bacon. Yum!
The perfect combination of sweet and savory!
